It’s already beach season here in Toronto, which means the masses are on the search for the perfect swimsuit. You already know how I feel about rocking a bikini as a size 16. In writing about my own experience, I realized how many other women became frightened at the mere thought of shopping for a two-piece. Today, I am happy to say that the revolution is officially upon us: More women are on board with the body-acceptance movement today than ever before (at least in my generation).

Swimsuits for All has released the ultimate body-positive swimsuit calendar as part of its Sexy at Every Curve campaign. Plus-size supermodel Robyn Lawley teamed up with our favourite fashion blogger Gabi Fresh and fellow plus-size models Jada Sezer and Shareefa J to shoot the calendar, which has gone viral since its release last week.

According to She Knows, the idea came about when the president of Swimsuits for All, Moshe Laniado,  heard that the 50th anniversary cover of the Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit edition would feature a curvy woman, but found that it actually featured three very thin models.

“We were disappointed and decided to do our own calendar shoot around the idea that curvy women—and all women—are sexy in swimwear and sexy to men,” Laniado said. So the company headed south with four of the plus-size industry’s leading ladies of fashion. The calendar, titled after the campaign “Sexy at Every Curve,” is free and features May through September of this year.

My favourite thing about this campaign is that these swimsuits are actually sexy. I’m talking beach bombshell, envy-inducing sexy. Each of these women are rocking the hell out of those suits, because they’re designed to flatter and highlight full-bodied figures. Like the four women featured in the campaign, I hope that this calendar will serve to remind women that the only thing you need to rock a bikini body is a body. Check out the behind-the-scenes video:

Shop the collection here and enter their contest to win your own dream photoshoot. Now, if someone could help me pick just one suit… (my favourites are this one, this one and this one. Also, do you think I could get away with wearing this on a daily basis? I feel like Rihanna would approve). Happy beach season, gals. Rock it out there.
