This is the best news ever. Four of the funniest women in the game right now are taking on the lead roles in the 2016 remake and we are pumped. McCarthy is one of our style icons (can’t wait to see what her new clothing line looks like) and Jones, Wiig and McKinnon never fail to bring the laughs on SNL. We think Bill Murray approves, judging by this quote from September: “Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny — God, she’s funny… There are some funny girls out there.” See you on July 22! You get the popcorn, I’ll grab the seats.
Julianne Moore and other stars refused E!’s mani cam at the SAG Awards
Last year, Cate Blanchett turned the tables on Giuliana Rancic, asking if she would ask a man the same silly questions about his looks. Last Sunday, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Canada’s own Tatiana Maslaney decided not to walk their fingers across that stupid mini red carpet. Aniston turned away immediately, saying “no, no, no,” while Moore responded with “I’m not doing that.” (Still, no one will ever beat this hilarious moment from the 2014 Golden Globes.)
